Rachel Varadarajulu (she/her) was born and raised in India where she attended medical school on the costal town of Mangalore at Father Muller Medical College. She went on to pursue a psychiatry residency in NYC at Maimonides. Because of her interest in psychotherapy, she also pursued additional psychodynamic psychotherapy training through the Psychoanalytic Association of New York (PANY). She also served as chief resident in her final year of residency training. Rachel is passionate about social justice and advocating for those who interface with the criminal justice system, which led her to complete a forensic psychiatry fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Seeking additional foundational knowledge in systems, she was committed to pursuing training in public psychiatry. During the public psychiatry fellowship, She returned to Maimonides to work in their outpatient LGBTQ clinic and is working to establish an asylum clinic through partnership with public defenders.
