General internist and health services researcher. Helped found University of Michigan's student-run Asylum Collaborative (UMAC) in 2013 and served as faculty liaison for 8 years. Since 2020 serve as medical director of Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), with focus on PHR's research and investigations, while continuing to lead NIH-funded health equity research at UM and provide clinical care at the Ann Arbor VA Health System.
