Dr. Jennifer McQuaid is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is a graduate of Williams College and received her PhD in clinical psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a certificate in Global Mental Health Trauma and Recovery from the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma.

Dr. McQuaid works at the intersection of maternal and child health, gender-based violence, and traumatic stress. She frequently conducts forensic psychological evaluations and serves as an expert witness and consultant for legal teams representing individuals seeking immigration relief in the United States (Asylum, U-Visas, Trafficking, Parent-Child Separation). She served as a lead evaluator on Oldaker vs. Giles, a class action suit on behalf of survivors of gynecological abuse at Irwin Detention Center, Oscillo, Georgia. Dr. McQuaid is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale Center for Asylum Medicine (YCAM) and a Research Associate in the Dept. of Psychology at Williams College. Since joining YCAM in 2017, she has focused on capacity building in the network of pro-bono clinicians and lawyers representing asylum seekers and coordinates mental health evaluations. She is currently working on three research studies focused on the mental health and well-being of asylum seekers during the post-migration period.
