I have been a primary care Internal medicine physician and teacher of medical students and medical residents at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School for 35 years. A large portion of my practice has been immigrants, primarily Latin Americans, most of whom speak only or primarily Spanish. Spanish is my second language, and I care for Spanish speaking patients using my (certified) language skills. I am new to asylum medicine and have completed ATMI training and have the good fortune of strong mentorship support. At this point in my career I am seeking the most meaningful work I can find and feel that I have a background that will help me develop the necessary skills to do this work well. I am very motivated to offer my services to this vulnerable subpopulation having witnessed the suffering of asylees and other immigrants in my daily practice.
