Area of expertise: Mental health evaluations for asylum seekers

David Gangsei, Ph.D. I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I have worked with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers through non-profit clinics and programs since 1986. (Program for Torture Victims; Survivors of Torture International; The Center for Victims of Torture) I have conducted over 60 evaluations of asylum seekers and provided written and oral testimony in immigration court. I have trained over 100 providers and supervised hundreds of evaluations and reports.

In 2018, I initiated a project in El Paso TX at the request of immigration attorneys there, to link mental health professionals with attorneys to provide evaluations and reports to support their clients in immigration proceedings. That program has developed into a 501c3 non profit organization, Humanitarian Outreach for Migrant Emotional Health (H.O.M.E.), under the leadership of executive director Jenifer Wolf-Williams, Ed.D. website www.homemigration.org. Since November 2022 until the present (May 2023) I serve as President of the Board of Directors of H.O.M.E.
