Charlotte Roy completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, followed by a fellowship in Global Emergency Medicine at Columbia University. During fellowship, she collaborated with the Mailman School of Public Health's Program on Global Health Justice and Governance on research related to gender-based violence in Africa. Her recent international work includes training emergency medicine residents in Rwanda and responding to the humanitarian crisis in Tigray, Ethiopia with Doctors Without Borders. She has also worked in Haiti, Guatemala, and Peru. She is a trained forensic medical evaluator and member of the Physicians for Human Rights asylum network. She currently works as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University.
