Ali is currently a fourth-year medical student in the UCSF/PRIME-US program, and planning to pursue a career in neurology. He was born and raised in San Francisco, California. As the proud son of low-income immigrants from Pakistan, he has witnessed how social, cultural, and structural factors can influence the trajectory of life’s outcomes. His upbringing and his passion for addressing inequities in all dimensions have driven his desire to address the medical and legal inequities facing people seeking asylum.
