D. Alexandria Lubans-Otto is the Senior Immigration Attorney for Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) in Northern Kentucky. Alex joined KRM in late 2023. Prior to joining KRM, Alex was the Managing Attorney for the Immigrant and Refugee Law Center (IRLC) in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2019 to 2023. Alex represents clients from all over the world before USCIS and the Immigration Courts. She has developed programs for special immigrant juveniles; a databank of supporting documents for affirmative and defensive asylum seekers; and a medico-legal collaboration with Dr. Shanna Stryker at the University of Cincinnati Division Of Family Medicine and Psychiatry, as well as Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In addition to her work with KRM, Alex teaches Immigration Law and Policy, and Asylum and Refugee Law, at the University of Cincinnati, College of Law. Before her work in the non-profit realm, Alex led her own immigration law practice in Kentucky. for a decade.
